Storytime
Storytimes at the Pioneer Memorial Library are designed to enrich and expand the preschool child’s interest in reading and learning activities.
Sessions are planned to give children an opportunity to hear a story, enjoy rhymes and music, and exercise early literacy skills.
Though storytimes are free and drop-ins are welcome, registration is requested in to help with program and space planning.
26-27 Theme – ABCs of the World: Every Letter Tells a Story
Get ready for a year-long adventure as we explore the world from A to Z!
From September through April, each week will feature a new letter-inspired theme that invites children to discover the people, places, objects, and wonders all around them. Through stories, songs, rhymes, movement, and play, we’ll build early literacy skills while nurturing curiosity and a love of learning. Our storytimes offer age-appropriate experiences that support language development, social-emotional growth, and school readiness.
Stay & Play
Each storytime wraps up with a relaxed Stay & Play session. After the last song or story, families are invited to stick around for hands-on activities that spark both learning and connection. Children can explore toys, art materials, and sensory play that encourage early literacy, motor skills, and problem-solving. Caregivers can chat, share experiences, and build community while their little ones learn through play. It’s the best of both worlds: purposeful play for kids, and meaningful connections for parents and caregivers.
