Youth Activity Center

The main focus for the Youth Activity Center is for it to be a space where youth, ages 9-15, can come and hang out after school and during the summer while they wait for their parents to pick them up. We have a variety of things for them to do and enjoy while they are here.

We have the following items available for the youth to use/play with while in the YAC:
  • A PlayStation
  • Nintendo Switch
  • Nintendo Wii
  • Board games
  • Puzzles
  • LEGOs
  • Computers**
  • 2 MakerBot Sketch 3D Printers*
  • Arts and Crafts
*For youth to be able to use the 3D Printers on their own, they have to demonstrate the necessary knowledge to be able to operate it safely.

**For youth who would like to get on the computers, they will need their own library card and their parent or guardian’s permission to get on the computers. If they do not have either of those, they will not be able to get on the computers and will have to find something else to occupy their time.

Youth who are interested in spending time in the YAC will need to have their parents fill out the registration form down below. Alternatively, families can register in person at PML during regular business hours.

YAC Hours

YAC hours vary. During the school year, it is open from 3:30-5:30pm Monday through Thursday. Because PML closes at 5:00 P.M. on Fridays, the YAC closes at 4:45pm to allow staff time to clean up before the weekend.

During the summer and on pre-determined “No School” days, the YAC is open from 1:00 to 5:00pm.

YAC hours are always posted here on our website, on our Facebook page, and on the door of the stairs that leads down to the YAC.
